Notting Hill Carnival is coming closer and closer and this means that already now you should make plans for the weekend. The festival takes place August 26th – 27th and as usually promises lots of fun and entertainment. During two days colourful floats will travel around the area and mighty sound systems will entertain visitors with music. Music styles are really varied: from ska and reggae to funk, hip hop and soul. There will also be celebrities performing for free. To keep yourself informed about the concerts, buy an official carnival map or visit the official site. As for the main events, they are: Junior Calypso Monarch and Pannists Championship, Adults Calypso Monarch Competition, National Steel Bands Panorama, Children’s Carnival and Adults Carnival. The carnival is an event not to be missed, but note that the whole area will be crowded so better leave your car at home.
