Seamstress and the Sea Installation is the exhibition at the HMS Belfast ship, which is opened to the public till February, 18th. This is not only an artistic, but really a personal exhibition as the artist reveals the subject connected with her family and her life. All the objects are created of textile and are thoroughly organized by the artist Rozanne Hawksley. This is a story of one sailor’s life, which could be seen thanks to the seamstress Alice Hunter, the artist’s grandmother. Those are not only the things with the help of which Alice was making her living – those are real parts of her life. The woman worked on this position during the period after the First World War and up until the middle of the Second World War, and, therefore, there were a lot of events that she could often observe. Those events, together with the feelings that brought to sailors, can be seen through the exhibits represented.
