The Transport Secretary Alistair Darling has launched a Christmas Drink Drive Campaign, which will target drivers across the capital with a combination of enforcement and education. Drink drive campaign aims to remind drivers that it takes less than you'd think to become a drink driver. "Sadly, the number of people who are being killed in drink drive related accidents has risen in recent years. We need to remind people that drink driving can kill. Drink drivers need to remember that the police are out there and they will be caught. If you want to have a drink, that is fine - but don't drive," Alistair Darling said. The campaign will also coincide with an intensified police enforcement campaign across the UK. It said many tested their cars to the limit, others drove while drunk and some believed it was safer to speed in the dark.
